November's Theme
Righto Collective Chums, the theme for November is Pimp my Ride.
Pick a mode of transport and pimp it to suit yourself, from a shopping trolley to a spaceship or anything in between... as long as locomotion is possible. The nuttier the better :)
cool. Hey just a note - can we tighten up on the posting labels and posting for each month? This theme for November is good, but will look super messy if there are a ton of late addtions from the October posting. Don't want to sound wanky or anything, but if you miss the post can it just be left that you missed it? The site gets clogged otherwise, and it's a really cool site to visit! :) (rant over)
I agree with Superhilbo!, I know im new to this site but I think it's fair that if you havint posted your pic for that month's theme then you should'nt post it as long as no one has posted their next theme pic up, as it would make the blog seem all over the place, but I also would like to see more of October's postings. What if the theme as usual is posted prior to the next month as usual, but give the next month a week before the new posts go up. That way any of the previous posts that some might not have had time to put up still have an extra seven days to put up their posts?
I'm with Hilbo too, there's too much cool stuff being posted for it all to descend into sloppiness. Such a diverse range of work should be a pleasure to browse through. I'm all for returning to how the blog started, you post on time and according to form or you don't post at all. There's a whole month for each theme, I don't think an extra seven days is necessary, as the month's end is the natural deadline. To nutshell it, one post per person per theme per month, titled with the theme and labelled with the contributors name only, as it appears in the list at right under galleries. Lookin' forward to tons more cool postings :)
Sorry I'm failing to see how this site has gotten so out of control, sloppy, or less cool. Most of the posts have still being put up in order of theme. The stuff I'm seeing is of a high standard, which is pretty cool to me. This blog was just featured on ICN yesterday in case you haven't noticed.
Hey Andrew,Dee was referring to the layout as potentially gettin sloppy, not the actual work! :)...and ICN is a friggin great site. Really the above is only observation and opinion in the hope to keep the site growing and improving so that all get some joy out of it. :) Have fun doin the November theme!
Well when we set up the blog there was no issue with posting late, because we are in animation and sometimes you have epic deadlines. It happens and sometime you can't get it done on time. I don't think this is a big issue. If you want, we can try and back-date late posts to the last day of the month they were supposed to be posted that. I think you can do that in the posting settings. We can test it and see how it works
Hey guys, the blog is looking great and I love looking through everyones work. Just wanted to say I moved country last month so I missed the October deadline, but I LOVE horror so I may just have to Pimp my ride in a horrific way :)
cool.
